Hello to you,
It was World Embroidery Day yesterday, and it is the weekend of Festival of Quilts, so I thought I would celebrate both by offering a free download of the Mushroom embroidery pattern. I designed this a few years ago, and lots of people have enjoyed embroidering it. My version is stitched with wool, and it is also fine to stitch with stranded cotton by using all six strands. Use whatever you have in your stash, the pattern downloads are there to help with stash busting.
The code to get your free download is FREEMUSH, and this is valid for 24 hours only. The pattern downloads usually cost £8 each, for which you will receive a download version of the booklets that are sent with the full embroidery kits. So, it's not just the pattern that you get, but also how to transfer your pattern to fabric, and how to stitch, as well as how to make it into a hand stitched cushion. The mushroom pattern usually costs £8, I like to say thank you to my newsletter subscribers every now and then, please tell your stitching friends.
I am not going to put a link to the pattern, this is a little test as to how easy the Embroidery Pattern section is to find at the website, but if you cannot find it then please let me know.
If you are going to the Festival of Quilts, let me know if you spot my quilt in the miniature section, I have entered 'Mending Cecily', and it isn't what you might call a traditional quilt, but I am hoping it will open up a conversation about what makes a quilt, and hopefully will encourage beginners to have a go. You might have seen Mending Cecily in my box of samples that I carry around to every workshop, it is a sample for the Embroidered Mini Photo Quilt workshop, and it is also available as a kit.
Talking of kits, there is still 30% off any kit until the end of July, which is today! The code is SUMMER, and there is free UK postage too.
There are still some spaces left for the second day of the workshop weekend with Suzette Smart, but not many, the link to book is below. It is going to be a cosy and magical weekend, with festive food too! What a good excuse to get munching on the Christmas snacks!
New workshops
I have released workshop sessions for almost every day of the 'Small Beginnings, Great Expectations & The Lost Jackets' exhibition, and they start from just £10. The exhibition is free to visit and will be open from 11am to 3pm on every day from the 19th of September to the 3rd of October.
Also, just to let you know that having had a stand at Knit & Stitch in Harrogate for the last three years, I won't be taking part this year, but I hope to see you around and about soon, if you would like me to visit your group please let me know, and I am happy to bring my shop containing my special studio prices.
That's all for now folks, have a lovely weekend.
Love from Victoria x
