Hello Florence, and a secret!

I'd like to introduce you to Florence, my newest embroidery kit, it is suitable for all levels of stitchers, from beginners upwards. The Florence design is deceptively easy to embroider, with simple stitches being used to great effect.

For the first time, this gorgeous kit contains hand dyed pure wool by Manos del Uruguay, which are super soft as they contain 70% Merino and 30% Silk!

I'm so pleased to be able to bring these to you, and for ease of use, I have cut the yarn into stitch ready lengths and attached them to a reusable Macrame ring. This crochet weight knitting wool is an absolute joy to stitch with as it's squidgy enough to hide imperfections, but it still has a form to it that creates very neat stitches with minimum effort. The natural variegations in the hand dyed wools really does the hard work for you in creating those natural striations, and great results are effortless. People usually wonder how it has been done ...... shhhh, let's keep it a secret just between us ......

The kit includes full printed instructions to make the generous sized hemmed panel into a bolster cushion, but it could also be a wall hanging, or displayed in a frame.

The inspiration for this kit comes from the Spanish side of my family, and is named after my Great Grandmother, Florence. With it's sweeping lines and bold colour palettes it looks like it is from a different era, but still retains elements of current design trends.

Taking inspiration from one of my favourite genres, the Arts & Crafts Movement, this wool embroidery kit will be available in three colour options for the simple reason that once I had completed one I just couldn't stop! This is the first available colour palette with the aptly named 'Happy Colours'.

I have designed the colour palette so that it is easy to style, and will brighten any interior decoration scheme.

Included in the kit:

  • Hemmed panel of heavy linen measuring 50 x 50 cm, a luxurious high-quality heavyweight linen.

  • Four mini skeins of Manos del Uruguay hand dyed wool, ready cut into stitchable lengths, stored on a handy Macrame ring.

  • John James Chenille embroidery needle.

  • 13 page full colour printed instructions with a stitch guide.

  • Printed to size A4 embroidery pattern template.

  • Carbon tracing paper for tracing your design.

  • Calico tote bag, which you could embroider with the leftover thread.

  • Video tutorials at my website.

  • Free delivery in the UK.

The stitches used in this design are easy to learn with my videos and the printed instruction booklet, and include just four simple stitches:

  • Satin Stitch

  • Herringbone Stitch

  • Straight Stitch

  • Leaf Stitch

That's all for now folks, I'm off to upload the other two colour palettes onto the website; blue/green on heavy linen, and black/pink on pure ivory linen, all are sumptuously luxurious.
