Though I say it myself, I love the colours in this kit, they have a dreamy, vintage vibe. The pure British wool threads are beautiful to stitch with, and they come from very nearby to my studio in Saddleworth. It features gorgously soft pure linen in black, making the colours stand off it beautifully.
This design features my favourite stitches, and there is a guide included, and videos at the website, and free downloadable Stitch Lessons for these stitches:
- Couched stitch
- Needle weaving
- Split stitch
- Seed stitch
- Buttonhole stitch
- Closed Fly stitch
This is a kit that could be made into a drawstring bag, or a cushion with the addition of a backing cloth, or it could be hemmed to make a wall hanging. There are lots of uses for the embroidered panel.
This is a new take on a design that I drew around five years ago, and is named after Alexandra from Dar Studio, just after she had designed this website.
The kit is suitable for beginners and advanced stitchers alike, as the stitches are easy to master, and there is a guide included, and videos at the website on how to do the stitches.
Containing pure wool threads in Pure British Wool, the light weight 4 ply wool is an absolute joy to stitch with as it's squidgy enough to hide imperfections, but it still has a form to it that creates very neat stitches with minimum effort. In terms of thickness, the wool is a fine 4 ply with the thickness of 2 ply.
Included in the kit:
- Pure linen fabric panel, 50 x 50 cm.
- Pure British Wool threads, five mini skeins weighing 5g each, that's 25g in total.
- John James Chenille embroidery needle.
- Black velvet ribbon to make a drawstring bag.
- Full colour printed instruction booklet with a stitch guide.
- Printed to size embroidery pattern template.
- Soluble fleece.
- Video stitch tutorials at my website.
- Free delivery in the UK.
Not suitable for children as it includes an embroidery needle and small parts.
The fabric and wool are washable by cool hand wash, wash separately on a cool wash.
