What a week!

Hello to you,
What a week it has been here at Little House of Victoria HQ!
Thank you to everyone that visited the beautiful exhibition by Curtains to Couture, it was really lovely to meet you all. The exhibition is now winging its way back down South, it took two days to prepare the studio, five hours to put it up, and one hour to take it down! The studio now looks like I've taken the Christmas decorations down, but I will enjoy filling the walls with new work.
How eventful it has been, in the space of a week I had to visit Manchester Eye Hospital A & E, and my car broke down, twice! Once on the hard shoulder of the M60 unfortunately. Thankfully, I am now on the mend and so is the car, thank you for all your lovely messages.
Another highlight of the week was the beautiful workshop by Sue Stichbury of Calico & Stitch, what a lovely day we had making a quilted memory book. I can highly recommend Sue's workshops, they are so inspirational and you are guaranteed to leave with a glow, I am hopeful that Sue will be returning next year, so keep your eyes peeled on forthcoming newsletters.
Ali Ferguson's new book 'Life Stories'
The biggest news of the week was the launch of the fabulous new book by Ali Ferguson 'Life Stories', which is particularly fabulous for me because I am in it!! It is such an honour and a privilege to make it onto the pages of Ali's second book. I have a double page spread at page 40, showing three of my stitched photographs that were produced for my MA in Contemporary Fine Art back in 2020. It is a beautiful book produced by my favourite publisher Batsford Books, and is available at all good book sellers, how long have I waited to say that?
New! Heavyweight Irish 100% linen panels
I have added some new heavyweight Irish linen panels to the website. I took a few to the studio yesterday to ask the group's opinion, and they were immediately snapped up! That's the royal seal of approval, and there are more colours on the way.
The panels measure 47cm square, and are suitable for embroidery, they would be particularly good for applique and making bags & cushions. Available in two gorgeously rich colours, dark ginger and dark olive, the panels are 100% Irish linen and are woven in Ireland, there is free UK postage too.
Workshops - Working with your photo printed onto fabric.
There was a lot of interest in my stitched photograph work during the exhibition. So, on a similar theme this coming Saturday there is a choice of three workshops at the studio, which I am teaching all together as there is one common thread running through them. In the workshop you will be working with your photo printed onto fabric. Just email the photo to me, and I will have it printed ready for the workshop. The workshops include all materials, and beginners are very welcome. If you have any questions, just reply to this email. Also, if you would like me to bring this type of workshop to your group, please get in touch.
That's all for now folks, I am going for a well deserved rest, and maybe a glass of something chilled in the garden. Enjoy the remainder of the weekend.
Love from Victoria x
