The Florence Pocket - A new kit to make a wearable felt pocket.

Ever since seeing the photo of my great grandmother, Florence, wearing a pocket on the outside of her skirt, I have wanted to make a wearable pocket. Especially as on some days, I select clothes depending on whether they have pockets or not, I am lost without pockets!  

The photo of Florence wearing the pocket is shown on this page, and you may have seen the embroidered stitched piece in my studio.  

Sometimes in workshops, I keep a small shoulder bag on me at all times to be able to quickly locate my phone and sewing materials, but it is cumbersome.  So, by wearing a pocket it means it can be more conveniently tied around my waist, balancing weight and making things more accessible.  

The felt panel is 100% wool, and a beautiful weight so that it is serviceable but still soft. The pure wool British threads are  joy to stitch onto the wool felt.

I just had to name this Florence, I wonder what Florence would have thought.
