Hello to you,

I am speaking to you from a rainy Manchester, which is a great relief after all the hot weather we have been having!  I hope you are enjoying the Summer.

I have been in preparation mode for the coming months, and have packed the workshop itinerary with new and some old favourite workshops.

During the exhibition weeks of September the 19th to 3rd of October, when the beautiful exhibition 'Small Beginnings, Great Expectations and The Lost Jackets' will be visiting my studio, there are lots of workshops packed in.  All of varying types, but mainly embroidery related.  We will be stitching with the beautiful and poignant stitched works of art around us, which will make it very special and will provide oodles of inspiration!  

Newly introduced is a Stitch with Me and a Read with Me session for just £12 and £10.  The idea for the Read with Me session came from Helen, a lovely lady that often visits the studio, and was born from the feeling that we never have time to read my lovely books!  There are lots of books from home that I will be bringing too, I am so looking forward to reading and discussing points of interest.  If you would like to meet like minded people, please have a look at that one.

Rug Hooking Workshop with Jill Rosalind of Curtains to Couture.

There are two guest tutors during the period of the exhibition, Jill Rosalind, the fab lady that is bringing the exhibition to us, will be teaching a Rug Hooking workshop on Sunday 20th September,  which I have always wanted to learn.  Have you seen Jill's samples, they are gorgeous and bursting with vibrancy! Make a bag, cushion, or panel from tshirt fabric, this is perfect for recycling and charity shop finds.

The second guest tutor is Sue Stichbury of Calico and Stitch, that session is fully booked and is waitlist only, please let me know if you would like to be added to the list.

Have a look at the workshop itinerary, it is packed full of stitchy goodness, but the numbers of places are limited at this time, as we have to fit the exhibition in! It is free entry to visit the exhibition, just come along to Woodend Mill One, third floor, between 11am and 3.00 p.m. from the 19th of September and the 3rd of October to see the beautiful stitched artworks. There is free parking at the mill too, so it won't cost you anything to come and have a look.  

Make a day of it!

If you'd like to visit other places on the mill site, the cakes, coffees, and nibbles at Hatch Bakery in the main yard are always popular, as is The Veg Lord farm shop for all sorts of food goodies. Also, if you would like to make a day of it, make sure to visit the giant charity shop that is Emmaus, and is just half a mile away. Emmaus are open from Tuesday to Saturday. It is possible to walk along the canal at the back of the mill, if it's a sunny day. 

Under a Winter Sky & Bird and Tree Ornaments Workshops with Suzette Smart

In other exciting guest tutor news, I am thrilled to say that in December, Suzette Smart will be teaching two days of standalone workshops, there is just one space left on the Saturday workshop, and a few remaining on the Sunday workshop. Check that out if you would like a pre Christmas treat.

The stitched samples are so beautiful, I am chomping at the bit for this one!
