Contemporary Crewel Embroidery

After many years of teaching this workshop, I have decided to change the name of the Wool Embroidery workshop to Contemporary Crewel Embroidery.

Although the technique used in many of my designs is crewel, I embroider with pure wool threads that would usually be employed for crochet or knitting.

The reason for embroidering with knitting wool is that it is soft to the touch, it's easier to work with, and it looks beautiful. The wool contained in my kits are from a local supplier in Saddleworth, I like to think I drive past the sheep on the way to the studio 🥰

So, if you are a knitter or crochet person, you will have lots of uses for your leftover wool with my embroidery patterns.

The workshop is on Sunday the 12th of July, and if you would like to learn the relaxing craft of wool embroidery, book your place at the link.
