Bird Friday!

Hello to you!

As a very small business it is difficult for me to participate in the madness that is Black Friday. Therefore, I'm doing Bird Friday! So, if you would like 25% off a little robin that's 'going cheep', then apply the code BIRDFRIDAY at the checkout.

The robin is part of the hand embroidery and applique range of kits that feature my paintings. There is a choice of the robin, a cat, a kingfisher and a cute bunny. They are suitable for beginners and advanced stitchers too, as you can choose how much and where to embroider with the ten skeins of cotton that are included in the kit. It also contains the printed fabric panel, as well as felt panels for the applique flowers. Printed instructions are also provided, as well as the usual John James embroidery needle. These make a lovely gift for anyone staying with you this Christmas, especially as they provide escape time from phones. The link to get yours is below, and they all have free UK postage.

At the Knitting & Stitching show in Harrogate last week, lots of people seemed surprised that I paint my own backgrounds, but I started off as a painter before I found a love of embroidery so it seems a natural thing for me to do. The robin is painted in acrylic paint in thin washes, which is my favourite way to paint. I will be releasing some dates for painting workshops early next year, so keep an eye on these mailings if you would like to do that.

Open Studio Weekend!

It's Open Studios Weekend at Woodend Mill this weekend! I am so looking forward to it, and my studio will be open from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on Saturday & Sunday, 25th & 26th. You can find me on the third floor of Woodend Mill One. There will be lots going on with artists in both mills opening their doors to welcome you. Also, the food outlets will be open with Christmas fodder.

I have put the Christmas tree up this week in the studio, and I'm in the festive mood! Please come along, there will be a cuppa and a warm welcome for you. My shop will also be open, and I have stuffed it with kits in Christmas packaging which is just perfect for gifting. There are free taster sessions to try your hand at embroidery, as well as bookable 1.5 hour sessions throughout the days. Bookings are at the link below.

If you would like a free downloadable project for the weekend, there are several at the website in the Free Resources section.

That's all for now folks, and I hope to see you at the weekend!

Love from Victoria xx
