A fabric collage project, stitch with me in real time!

I had a dilemma this week, I released the Antique French Fashion Print kit, but I hadn't even started stitching the sample! So, in the guide booklet, I have detailed a similar fabric collage project, which is fine as the techniques are the same.

Instead of sending the finished pictures out in the guide, I'm going to document it on here as it goes along, so if you would like to stitch along with me, there are links below to get your kit.

This image shows where I am up to today, which is Tuesday 4th of August. As the project progresses, I will amend the guide booklet until it shows all of the completed project.

So far, I have arranged the fabric swatches, cutting them down from the large pieces provided in the kit, there are far more than is needed to cover the base fabric, and there will be plenty left over for future projects.

I have first stitched down the printed photograph, positioning it in the centre of the base fabric. There are three designs in the series, and all of them co-ordinate, if you would like to make co-ordinated cushions. The appliqued panels could make all manner of things, from bags to cushions, or wall hangings. The kit comes with a 47cm square panel of pure heavyweight linen, which gives a lot of scope.

I have arranged the fabric pieces, pinned them in place, before stitching a barely visible holding tack to hold everything down whilst I do the permanent stitching.

I have put a link to the kits below, if you'd like to stitch along with me. There are three designs, two of the ladies are the same person in different poses, I wonder what kind of a life they lived in 1911, it all looks very glamorous:

DISCOUNT CODE for 20% off

Oooh, I nearly forgot! There is 20% off any embroidery kit with the code 20KIT, and as usual there is free UK postage included too.

Workshops

If you would like to do stitch this kit with me in person, there are workshops that regularly run at the studio. If you can't see it, message me and it would be fine to stitch the kit in most of my sessions, For example, there are two workshops running on Sunday, with a very similar theme, so it would be fine to slot this one in, message me for details.

Stay tuned for updates as I stitch!

Love from Victoria x
