Service Description
Would you like to indulge in wool felt applique embroidery in a very special setting? We will be working in an authentic weaver's cottage dating from the 1840s at Colne Valley Museum in Golcar, Huddersfield. Working with pure 100% wool felt in sumptuous colour palettes, the felt is beautifully soft. Together we will build a decorative stitched panel that can have a multitude of uses. The wool felt will be attached to the pure felt base fabric with simple stitches, and full step by step tuition will be provided. There will also be patterned fabric available to applique, depending on the design chosen. There will be a design provided, and you can either follow my example, or or you can completely design your own. It is possible to be as creative as you would like with the fabrics available. This workshop is suitable for beginners as you will work with me through each step. The workshop is equally suitable for advanced stitchers as it is possible to be as creative as you like as there will be a variety of stitches that can be included. This is a very creatively freeing process, there will be lots of colours to choose from. There are no rules, as the focus is on enjoyment over perfect results. These are the materials that are included in the workshop, and you will be able to take a kit away with you to finish the piece at home: - 100% Pure wool felt. - Pure silk thread set. - Cotton and pure wool threads. - John James embroidery needle. - Patterned fabric for applique.
