Embroidering with wool is so tactile and easy to do. Wool embroidery is such a relaxing way to learn embroidery, although the title of this workshop says it is crewel, the technique is crewel but the wool is 4 ply pure wool, that has the thickness of 2 ply, all will become clear! The use of wool threads makes it very easy to learn the stitches. This workshop includes a choice of kits from the £40 section at the website. Please let me know if you have a preference, there will be a selection at the workshop. Tuition is included and you will leave armed with at least three of the stitches needed for your design. It's good to have time to practice and to get used to the key stitches needed. This workshop is suitable for beginners as it involves a few simple stitches, and you will work with me through each step. It is also equally suitable for advanced stitchers as it is possible to be as creative as you like. All materials are provided, and you will have materials to take with you to finish the project at home. The materials included are: - Pure linen fabric panels or printed panels. - Pure British and Merino wool threads - John James embroidery needle. - Carbon tracing paper, if applicable to your kit. - Some kits have additional items like webbing, trim, buttons, felt, etc. All other materials that you will need will be for use within the studio, and there will be plenty of threads for you to take home to finish the project. If you have any materials, threads or embellishments that you would particularly like to use, this is very much encouraged.
