Textured & Raised Embroidery

Service Description

Create interest in your stitched work with raised textural stitches. Full tuition plus an art and stitching kit is included in this workshop. Drawing, painting, or mark making skills are not required, if you can hold a pen then you can do this. It is suitable for complete beginners and advanced stitchers. We will first create marks on fabric, and use these to inspire the stitching. You can work with me step by step, or create your own stitches, this workshop is suitable for beginners as well as advanced stitchers wishing to put more texture into their stitching. All materials are included, and this workshop includes a £20 credit in the art supplies section of the shop, meaning you can choose a paint set, pencils, or markers that you will then use to make marks with. I will be on hand to help at every step to guide you through this simple process, and will demonstrate the textured stitches involved. This workshop is a mindful and relaxing experience, and slow stitching and instinctive colour selection is very much encouraged, but I will be there to assist at every step. The kit includes - A £20 credit to spend in my art shop, this could get a paint set, pencils, markers, etc. - A selection of embroidery threads. - A set of pure wool threads. - John James Embroidery Needles, a set of three for fine embroidery, chunky embroidery, and bead application. - Fabric. Please note that the studio is on the third floor of Woodend Mill One with stair access only.
