Service Description
Make a mini quilt with hand embroidery, this is such a relaxing thing to do. This workshop is suitable for beginners as you will work with me through each step, it involves a few simple stitches. This workshop is equally suitable for advanced stitchers as it is possible to be as creative as you like as there will be a variety of stitches that can be included, including some to stretch your embroidery skills. In this session we will be embroidering and layering strips of applique fabric, and will be joining them together on a linen backing panel in a free and creative way to form a mini quilt that can have many purposes. There will be no rules or striving for perfection, and we will be embracing the frayed edge. Beginners are welcome, the stitches are very simple. All materials are included with fabrics from my collection, including vintage fabrics. This is a very creatively freeing process, and there are no rules as the focus is on enjoyment over perfect results. The materials included are: - Vintage and new fabric swatches. - Linen or cotton base fabric. - Perle Cotton ball, in a choice of colours, Luca-S or DMC. - Three x full cotton skeins. - Beads. - John James embroidery needles. - Lace, ribbons, and wooden buttons. If you have any materials, threads or embellishments that you would particularly like to use, this is very much encouraged. Please note that the studio is on the third floor of Woodend Mill One, and there is no lift. If you have any questions before the day, then please email me at hello@littlehouseofvictoria.com
