Festive Crewel Embroidery

Service Description

Crewel embroidery techniques with a festive theme. In this workshop we will be embroidering with wool and cotton threads for cosy themed embroidery. There will be a variety of festive themed embroidery patterns to choose from, and it is possible to make decorations and embroidered gift bags with the designs. The designs can be adapted in a number of ways, I will demonstrate this and any stitches that are needed. Embroidering with wool is the easiest way to learn, this workshop is suitable for all levels. Tuition is included and you will leave armed with at least three of the stitches needed for your design. It's good to have time to practice and to get used to the key stitches needed. This workshop is suitable for beginners as it involves a few simple stitches, and you will work with me through each step. It is also equally suitable for advanced stitchers as it is possible to be as creative as you like. All materials are provided, and you will have materials to take with you to finish the project at home. The materials included are: - Pure linen fabric panel. - Pure British and Merino wool threads, Appletons crewel wool, and cotton, perle, and metallic threads. - John James embroidery needles. - Carbon tracing paper, if applicable to your kit. All other materials that you will need will be for use within the studio, and there will be plenty of threads for you to take home to finish the project. If you have any materials, threads or embellishments that you would particularly like to use, this is very much encouraged.
