Little House of Victoria goes to Japan!

I have been bitten by the Sashiko and Boro bug, it was a rabbit hole that I was resisting falling down, but now that I have I am very glad that I did.

I have just released my first Sashiko embroidery kit which I have designed using new Sashiko 'Awai-oro' threads by Olympus, everything needed for the project is within the kit, and there is an accompanying Sashiko needle pack, as well as a pure linen panel and full instructions. . The embroidery kit is now available at the link below.

Unlike most Sashiko kits, the method contained in this kit doesn't involve stitching onto definite printed lines, it is a much more simplified and enjoyable method. I am calling it Sashiboro, as it isn't quite Sashiko, and it crosses over into Boro given the free and easy continuous line meaning that stitches can be placed a little more randomly than following printed dashes.

Also, when it comes to Japanese threads, I didn't stop there as I am now stocking 'Soie et' silk thread packs by Fujix, as well as Fine Sashiko thead packs by Olympus. Both of these companies have been making threads in Japan for over a hundred years, so they absolutely know how to produce fine threads.

The links to see the thread collections are below, as well as the new Sashiboro 'Sashiko Spring Flowers' embroidery kit. Also, keep your eyes peeled to see a second Sashiko embroidery kit when it pops up in a few days, and there will be workshops to follow soon too.
