Vintage Jewellery & Embroidery

Service Description

In this workshop you will have a choice from a selection of vintage style brooches to take inspiration from, or you can bring your own vintage jewellery to work with. The brooch is included within the kit for this workshop, and is an integral part of your finished piece. The brooches will be fixed to a pure wool felt panel, with embroidery surrounding it to match. You will have a choice of metallic threads, pure wool felt, and pure silk threads, resulting in a stitched piece that is tailored to your taste. The finished panel is large enough to make a lined case, and they can be stitched into needle cases, pencil cases, or a beautiful sunglasses case. This workshop is suitable for beginners as you will work with me through each step, it is also suitable for advanced stitchers, as you can follow my examples or be as creative as you like. This is a very creatively freeing process, and there are no rules as the focus is on enjoyment over perfect results. The stitches are surprisingly simple, and we will also be working with perle and cotton threads. The materials included are: - A vintage style brooch. - Pure wool felt fabric panel. - Perle Cotton. - Pure silk threads. - Cotton skeins. - Beads & charms. - Cotton webbing. - John James embroidery needles. - Lace, ribbons, and buttons. If you have any materials, threads or embellishments that you would particularly like to use, this is very much encouraged.
