Scribble Stitch - Stitch Sampler

Service Description

In this workshop you will gain skills and knowledge and start to produce a stitch sampler over 30 days of stitching prompts. Sketching or scribbling is encouraged, but there are other means of producing the sketches if you are reticent in making marks. Each mark will be covered with stitch, and texture. The prompts can be personalised, resulting in a fully populated stitch sampler that is meaningful to you. You will leave the workshop having started the first part, and will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to continue the project at home. You can work to the prompts or make up your own on a personalised theme. Enhance your embroidery skills by working in short bursts each day, it is really beneficial to improving your stitching skill set. This workshop provides all the creativity you would like, with all the tuition you need, and will encourage you to pick up your needle for just a short burst each day. At the end of your project, you will have completed one large sampler, or several connected samplers. The projects can be as random as you like, but you will be given guidance and a month of prompts, and both abstract mark making or sketching/tracing is encouraged. No previous skills are required, and guidance will be provided. You will have a pure linen panel to embroider onto, and a choice of wool threads and cotton skein threads. Beginners and advanced stitchers alike are welcome, and a selection of useful stitches will be demonstrated. This is a very creatively freeing process, and there are no rules as the focus is on enjoyment over perfect results. All materials are provided, and you will have materials to take with you to finish your project at home. All other materials that you will need will be for use within the studio, and there will be plenty of threads for you to take home to finish the project. If you have any materials, threads or embellishments that you would particularly like to use, this is very much encouraged.
