Service Description
Would you like to indulge in some relaxing stitching using beautiful Liberty & William Morris fabrics? Taking place at the very inspiring Eden Gallery in Newburgh, near Parbold, this workshop is suitable for beginners as you will work with me through each step. It involves a few simple stitches, including Kantha, Sashiko & Boro stitch, which are all forms of running stitch, making it very easy. This workshop is equally suitable for advanced stitchers as it is possible to be as creative as you like as there will be a variety of stitches that can be included, including some to stretch your embroidery skills. In this session we will be embroidering and layering strips of applique fabric, and will be joining them together on a linen backing panel in a free and creative way. There will be no rules or striving for perfection, and we will be embracing the frayed edge. Beginners are welcome, the stitches are very simple. The appliqued panel could have many uses, and in this class we will explore how to make it into a needle case, phone case, glasses case, or book cover, and other useful objects too. All materials are included with fabrics from my collection, including vintage fabrics. The panels could also be joined together to make other items, all of which will be explored in the workshop. This is a very creatively freeing process, and there are no rules as the focus is on enjoyment over perfect results. The kit that is included usually retails for around £40 and is included in the price of the workshop, the materials include: - Liberty, William Morris, Japanese prints, Moda, and Ruby Star fabrics. - Pure Linen Base Fabric, 47 x 47cm. - Perle Cotton ball, in a choice of colours to suit your project, Luca-S or DMC. - Three x full cotton skeins. - Beads. - Cotton webbing. - John James embroidery needles. - Lace, ribbons, and wooden buttons. If you have any materials, threads or embellishments that you would particularly like to use, this is very much encouraged. The workshop within Eden Gallery is on the ground floor and is fully accessible, if you wish to dine in the cafe before the workshop, there is a lift, and booking is recommended. There is plenty of time to look around the gallery and shop in the morning before the workshop. If you have any questions before the day, then please email me at hello@littlehouseofvictoria.com
