Service Description

This workshop includes the Liberty Fabrics Slow Stitching Kit. This workshop is suitable for beginners as you will work with me through each step, it involves a few simple stitches, including Kantha, Sashiko & Boro stitch. This workshop is equally suitable for advanced stitchers as it is possible to be as creative as you like as there will be a variety of stitches that can be included, including some to stretch your embroidery skills. In this session we will be embroidering and layering strips of applique fabric, and will be joining them together on a linen backing panel in a free and creative way. There will be no rules or striving for perfection, and we will be embracing the frayed edge. The appliqued panel could have many uses, and in this class we will explore how to make it into a needle case, phone case, glasses case, or book cover, and other useful objects too. All materials are included. The panels could also be joined together to make other items, all of which will be explored in the workshop. This is a very creatively freeing process, and there are no rules as the focus is on enjoyment over perfect results. The materials included are: The Liberty Slow Stitching Kit, which usually retails at £45.00. - Two x Pure Linen Base Fabric, natural coloured panel 47 x 47cm, plus a pure linen panel in grey or soft white 49 x 49 m. - Liberty Fabrics printed swatches x 20, measuring approximately 12cm x 12cm, two each of ten designs. Plus six pure linen fabric swatches. - Wool Felt square, 30cm x 30cm. - Wool blanket fabric for wadding. - Two x Daruma Fine Sashiko threads , 40m each. - 3 x Luca-S Mouline full cotton skeins. - Glass beads. - Cotton webbing. - Olympus Sashiko needle pack. - John James embroidery needles. - Lace, ribbons, and wooden buttons. - Printed Instruction booklet, A4 colour, with stitch guide.
