Hand Embroidery with Felt Appliqué

Service Description

This workshop is suitable for all stitching levels, even complete beginners. This workshop is the perfect way to start with embroidery, and it is suitable for all skill levels as you will work alongside me at every step. We will be hand embroidering onto pre printed fabric panels that have been printed with my painted designs on organic half cotton panama. There will be the opportunity to apply simple hand embroidery techniques onto the panels to make it unique to you. I will also show you how to add applique flowers and detail to the panel. The areas that you choose to embroider will be of your choice, but I will provide guidance, and this can be tailored to your skill level so it is possible to grow slowly. There will be a choice of the size of the design of the panel, choose from cat, bunny, owl, deer, squirrel, or robin. The panels can be made into a variety of items, I have made a bag and a needle case from my samples. Or it could make a patch on a cushion front, or a framed piece of art. The kit contains a choice of threads, an everything needed to complete the design. You will then be able to take it home, so you will be able to continue with the embroidery if you would like to add more detail and build on the skills learnt in class. Kit Contents: - The fabric panel printed on organic half panama cotton in your chosen design. - Stranded cotton skeins - John James embroidery needle - Felt panels for appliqué I will guide you through the basic stitches, this style of stitching is achievable for complete beginners, as you will learn one stitch at a time with beautiful threads. There will be plenty of time to practice the stitches, and you will leave with confidence. Please note that my studio is located on the third floor for which there is no lift in the building. Tea, coffee, and biscuits also provided, bring a packed lunch. Not suitable for children due to sharp needles.
