Service Description

Applique and embroider a butterfly, or dragonfly, or any other creature or animal, or flower, that you might like to embroider. In this workshop you will learn various techniques including applique and couture techniques such as how to apply beads and sequins. The process is broken down to be suitable for beginners and advanced stitchers alike. First we will arrange fabric pieces, before stitching with simple techniques, and then applying beads, trims, and sequins. The workshop is suitable for beginners as you will work with me through each step. You will receive sufficient guidance and materials to finish your project at home. The workshop is equally suitable for advanced stitchers as it is possible to be as creative as you like, there will be a variety of stitches that can be included, including some to stretch your embroidery skills. This is a very creatively freeing process, and there are no rules as the focus is on enjoyment over perfect results. The kit that is included in the price of the workshop includes: The materials include: Vintage and found fabrics to montage together. Base fabric such as linen or cotton to suit your chosen design. Perle cotton. Stranded cotton. John James embroidery needles. Buttons, sequins, beads, ribbon, and trims. All other tools required will be available to use on the day, and you will have your kit to take home. Please note the studio is on the third floor of the mill, with stair access only. The facilities are on the same floor as the studio.
